Rock chick Res -- who currently is a member of the rock-rap hybrid band Idle Warship (with Graph Nobel and Talib Kweli) has released this cover version of “The Metro,” a song originally performed by 80’s new wave band Berlin. The track will appear on Mick Boogie Presents Idle Warship's Party Robot mixtape and it's supposed to represent her new musical direction. A upcoming solo album also is in the works.
I'm happy that Res is back making music, but on the real, I'm not feeling this song, too tough.
I want the old Res from the How I Do days.
Undoubtedly, her 2001 debut LP How I Do (on MCA Records) is one of the best rock-R&B albums of the past decade. And there hasn't been a chick who could rock it harder or better than Res since.
So, I have to go back down memory lane and watch/listen to some old Res.

Res (featuring Nas) -- "Ice King"

Holla!
