It's baaack! The Big Post Of Life List that was masterfully created by the big Negro himself, Mister JT. Ch-ch-ch-check it out!
Five things wrong in my field of vision right now::
1. White women with big booties
Not that there's anything wrong with white women with big asses, but it's certainly an eyeful. Here in New York, I have been noticing that there are lot of white women with big round butts and they are not afraid to flaunt it in booty shorts. These women have big butts that would make Ki Toy Johnson's most-beloved backside look flat! It makes a brother want to go to the other side and see how that other white meat taste. *joking*
2. Oprah Winfrey serving jury duty
Oprah Winfrey shouldn't have been called for jury duty last week. Oprah hardly qualifies as a peer of the man who was on trial for murder. I also believe her celebrity could have ruin this man's chance in getting a fair trial. The reason being is that everyone in the courtroom will be distracted by Oprah's presence. The talk-show queen told the media that this case wasn't about her but about a senseless murder. Wrong, it had everything to do with Oprah because she had to sit on that jury. Shame on the attorneys for allowing Oprah in the jury box.
3. Shyne and his "realness"
Incarcerated rhyme-spitter Shyne has been crowned the "keep it real" artist with his latest CD, Godfather Buried Alive. I think Shyne is a joke with has nothing to say, and his fledging rap career is about to be over in 15 seconds. Def Jam gave Shyne a $15 million record deal, which is reckless and dumb. Shyne doesn't have anything worthy to say for any "niggah" living in the struggle.
Read Lynne d Johnson's detailed review on Shyne's new CD Godfather Buried Alive. She believes in Shyne's "ethos."
But Lazarus of Street Dreams comes correct with explaining what this whole "Shyne is real" praise is truly all about:
I'm going to go ahead and declare Godfather Buried Alive the most overrated album of the year. But the tons of accolades being thrown upon it have very little to do with the music, and everything to do with Shyne's image. "Shyne's so real!" and "Shyne's realer than 50 [Cent]" are the central praises you're most likely to hear when you ask someone's opinion of the album. I'll sum up my feelings on the issue with these observations:1. The deluge of bubblegum rap and cookie-cutter "gangsta" caricatures in hip hop he left millions of rap listeners starving for any semblance of musical authenticity.

4. This racist bastard is questioning Barack Obama's African heritage.
5. You want to keep it real?
Try the RealDoll, dammit!

Top Songs of the Right Now::
Kam (Featuring Akon) -- "The Message"
Fuck Shyne, this is the realest rap song you'll hear this week.
Missy Elliott (Featuring Christina Aguilera) -- "Car Wash"
Yep, Missy Elliott and pop vixen Christina Aguilera redo Rose Royce's classic dance track "Car Wash."
Van Hunt -- "Down Here In Hell With You" (Music Video)
I can't get enough of Van Hunt. This video is kinda nice. Although it looks like Mr. Hunt took a page out of the Lenny Kravitz handbook and decided to do an abstract music video with a bi-racial chick. Oh, Van Hunt, you are such a rock star.
Stevie Wonder -- "As" (via Timi's radio blog)
Ahhh, it's good to hear the classics. Sing it, Stevie.
A music review that I'm trying to write that you don't know nothin' about::
Much like Blogcritics.org founder Eric Oslen, I'm struggling to make time in the day to pen music reviews of new (and old) CDs that I like. I have the same problem: I toil over reviews like "I'm writing the constitution for a new nation."
I would like to write a review on two jazz CDs that honors the musical genius of Stevie Wonder: Blue Note's Blue Note Plays Stevie Wonder and Yesterday's New Quintet's Instrumental Tribute to Stevie Wonder.
If you don't have these two CDs in your music library, first, kick yourself in the ass, then head to store and cop both of them! These are two of the best (smooth?) jazz albums of the year.
Albums playing on the regular Right Now::
The Roots -- The Tipping Point
Donny Hathaway -- These Songs For You Live
Boney James -- Pure
Choice Cut: "Break of Dawn" (featuring Dwele)
R. Kelly -- Happy People/ U Saved Me
