At a time where the magazine/publishing industry is laying off journos/writers and struggling to stay afloat in this dire economy, it's good to see that there are a few magazines surviving the storm of the recession and rolling out some issues worthy of your attention.
What you see above is the front covers of the inaugural issue of RESPECT. magazine featuring Jay-Z and the late Tupac Shakur as its cover subjects. In the premiere issue, several distinguished photographers recall their stories behind some of hip-hop's most iconic photographs. The magazines are on newsstands now.
From looking at the publication, it looks like RESPECT. magazine wants to be a LIFE magazine to the hip-hop generation.
I can dig it.

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is holding down two separate covers for XXL magazine's first-ever "Internet Issue." Among the profiles featured in the publication, include an interview with Snoop Dogg and tribute profiles to late rhyme-spitters Ol' Dirty Bastard (aka Ason Jones) and Mac Dre to commemorate the fifth year anniversary of their untimely deaths.
In addition, XXL has devised their own list of the "100 Best Hip-Hop Websites," which I'm quite sure will have the Internets in an uproar.
Holla!
