Little Brother is back!!!
I guess I'm going to keep tabs on the North Calackie rap trio Little Brother until their sophomore CD The Minstrel Show hits stores on Sept. 13.
The picture above is the official Minstrel Show CD/Album cover art. Also, Mike at Jesus Piece blog has LB's first single, "Lovin' It" b/w "Hold On." Like I said before, I think "Lovin' It" is a weak first single. The song is not entirely wack but it doesn't have any umph to it, neither. "Hold On" is a better track of the two.
I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that Atlantic Records doesn't drop the ball and give up on this trio. The promo staff at Atlantic will have their work cut out for them. They may have to work Little Brother promotional-wise the same way they did with the Nappy Roots a few years back. Of course, this now begs the question: "Whatever happened to the Nappy Roots?
In the meantime, Little Brother will go on a Summer-Fall tour in support of their disc. LB's 24-city trek kicks off Aug. 22 in New Orleans and winds down on Oct. 7 in Carrboro, N.C. To find out when they are going to hit your city/town, peep the trio's itinerary, below:

I can't wait for Little Brother's CD to hit stores next month.
It looks like two of my favorite artists -- Kanye West (with his CD Late Registration) and Little Brother will have a banner year.

But there's also a HUUUUUUUUGE buzz on Blackalicious' upcoming CD The Craft, due Sept. 27 on Anti- Records. My sources tell me that the duo has literally crafted a rap album unlike no other and some have called it "hip-hop classic."
I have to wait and see . . . and hear.
In the meantime, Blackalicious will head out on a promotional tour beginning Aug. 31 in Sacramento, Calif., and finish up on Sept. 15 in New York.
It looks like another banner year for hip-hop, yall! Save your money!
Holla @ Cha Boy!
